¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! In Fifth Grade Spanish, students acquire Spanish through TCI (Teaching with Comprehensible Input). Included in this methodology are: TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling), TPR (Total Physical Response), OWI (One Word Images), Story Asking, Movie Talk, Circling and PQA (Personalized Questions and Answers) and much more! We will play games, sing songs, read books, create stories and act out scenes. We will compare and contrast our culture with the Spanish-speaking world and make connections. The class will be taught primarily in Spanish. English will be used to check for comprehension.
Our class is interactive and participation is an integral part to acquire the language and advance through the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) proficiency-based standards.
